Ponies in a box/ Nightmare on Twitter

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 8, 2013, 9:01 PM

So...since many of you were upset after I made Anti-Mage kill Twilight, I decided to compensate with a cute animation. It's simple and short, but I hope you like it. (I really doubt this one will pop-up in Equestria Daily, but it would be hilarious if it did xD)

Also, since I'm going back to school next Monday, I won't be able to update as often here, on my tumblr or on Youtube, so I made a twitter for Nightmare Moon, which you can find here:

mlp_NightyMoon

Of course, it would be more fun if you sent me questions over there as well, to help me get in character more quickly.

Well, this is it for now. Thank you and I'll see you in the next post. ^^

Anti-Mage hates magic / Shirts

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 6, 2013, 2:24 PM

And since Friendship is Magic, he hates friendship too! It's very short and silly. Don't take it too seriously.

---------------------------------------
I also made 2 Portal shirts:

Now you're Derping with Portals

This one is also available as an iphone/ipad case:

When Life gives you Lemons...

That's it for today. Keep an eye on my journals for future updates!

Two more designs. These you may like, because it's MLP and Pokemon ^^

A Wild Derpy Appeared!

I'm Gonna Raichu a Love Song

And Merry Christmas everybody! It's probably not Christmas where you live anymore, but hey, better late than never right? (At least that's what Fluttershy says!)
Not a big announcement this time. But since my animation is done and I have more spare time to actually play my steam games, I figured I'd share my username here, just in case you want to add me. It's alfa_995

I also made a post of it on my Tumblr. Just in case you haven't seen it yet, I'll post the link below as well.

Ask Nightmare Moon HQ

If you want to play some steam games with me, let me know. Or we can also just chat if you want. ^^

Derpy's Christmas/ More shirt designs

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 21, 2012, 6:44 PM

First of all, my Derpy animation is finally done! Good to see the Mayan Doomsday didn't stop me from sharing this with you guys. Happy holidays!

Second, I made some more shirts. Check them out below, and click on their links if you want to see them in another color.

Dota 2 - Manta Style

Dota 2 - Evolution of Tiny

Thank you guys for sticking around despite my lack of updates. School takes most of my time and animation is very time consuming. Despite some little details here and there this has been a great year for me. Hopefully next one will be at least 20% cooler!^^

Hey guys, just wanted to share two more t-shirt designs. You can check them out in Redbubble by clicking their corresponding links.

Dota 2 - Crystal Maiden

Dota 2 - Rubick's Cube

And regarding the upcoming Derpy's Christmas animation update...I'll share a screenshot of one of the frames.

Keep an eye on my journals for more updates. Until next post! ^^

Another t-shirt design, featuring everyone's favorite butcher, Pudge from Dota! Check it out in Redbubble.

In other news, my Derpy Christmas animation is coming along nicely. The animatic is almost done, so chances are I will be able to finish it before Christmas. ^^

More updates in the next journal.

What do you think? If you like it, you can check it out in Redbubble, where you can buy it as a t-shirt, hoodie and more!

Also, I'll leave this link to my twitter account here. Whenever I make new designs or have announcements regarding my animations, I'll tweet about it.

By the way, I'm done with finals, so I'll have more time to work on stuff. Expect a Derpy Christmas animation this month. ^^

Lauren Faust's Stalker/Shirts and more

Journal Entry: Fri Nov 23, 2012, 7:58 PM

Do you remember the massive animation project I mentioned such a long time ago? This is it. It's a tribute/silly parody crossover featuring Lauren Faust, a.k.a. :iconfyre-flye:, the creative mind behind Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and of course, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

It's also a crossover with Starcraft, the videogame that indirectly made me become interested in MLP in first place.

So go check it out! There's a ton of references and cameos of artists of the fandom, cartoon characters and more. Can you find them all? I doubt it, but give it a try!

(By the way, try not to take this too seriously ^^')

----------------------------------
In other news...

I recently made a Redbubble account: [link]

Basically, I make designs, and if you like them, you can buy them in shirts, as stickers, prints and even iphone and ipad cases. Right now I have 3 Derpy designs, but I will add more stuff eventually.

Until next post! ^^

Derpy Cardcaptor Ending

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 30, 2012, 2:32 PM

Note: This is NOT the "massive animation project" I'm working on. That one is still in the works.

I literally just made this now, took me a few hours. Since I already ponified the Cardcaptor Sakura opening, I thought: "hey, might as well do the ending too." so here it is.

I hope you enjoy filly Derpy prancing around holding a letter in her mouth, because that's what you're getting. LOTS of it.

And here's the opening, just in case you haven't seen it or if you want to watch it again.

Upcoming animation/Derpy Cardcaptor

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 26, 2012, 11:26 AM

First of all, the video above is a kind of old animation I made, but I'll leave it here just in case you haven't seen it and you want to check it out.

Second, I'm not dead! The lack of updates is simply because I'm working on a massive animation project, and by massive, I mean simply that it's quite lengthy and I'm doing it without any help. I could post a picture of one of the frames, but I don't want to ruin the surprise. All I can say is you will probably like it, and if you don't, well...you will still talk about it, believe me.

Third, I made a small update for Derpy Cardcaptor. I just added more lyrics (the accurate English translation, instead of just the parody, and also Japanese lyrics). The video is below, if you wanna check it out.

Also, add me on Steam! My username is alfa_995, I accept all requests. ^^

EDIT: Well, it seems that this thing got to the footer of the site, despite the fact that I told people NOT to fave it...and most of you don't seem to see the sarcasm or get that this is a joke. So to avoid any further confusion, I'll write this here at the top with bold all-caps: THIS IS A JOKE, IT'S NOT A REAL GIVAWAY! If anyone still believes this is real, despite obviously stating that it's not, it will not be my fault anymore. Alright, now that that's clarified, read this below and try to get a laugh.

*********************

Hello, people who may or may not even know me! Since I'm rich and I'm too lazy to actually make art, despite this obviously being an art site, I will shamelessly buy your attention by making another ridiculous point givaway. YAY!! To enter, the rules are as following:

1.- WATCH ME!!1!
Yeah, you thought this was gonna come for free? You gotta add me to your deviantWatch, even if you don't like my art, or haven't even looked at my gallery, I don't care. And what if you watch me for the givaway and un-watch me after it's over? I don't care either! I just want to see I got messages about people watching me, even if they don't honestly appreciate my work. I'm just that shameless and desperate.

2.- FAVE THIS JOURNAL!1!!
You gotta add this journal to your favorites too, or you will be disqualified. This will help this dumb contest spread to the far corners of the website, and maybe even make it to the footer! WOO! Please do this, I want more people to be fooled into believing they can win get a chance to win.

3.- MAKE A JOURNAL ABOUT THIS GIVAWAY!!1!
Yeah, faving and watching are obviously not too much already just to enter a contest which you will not even win. You also gotta make a journal in which you link to this givaway so all your watchers get informed about this junk and try to enter too. Of course, they will also have to make their own journals to enter and it will spread further! Just like a virus! AWESOME!!

4.- COMMENT ON THIS JOURNAL!1!one!
This is your official ticket to enter the givaway. You gotta add a comment in which you link to the journal you just made, just to make sure you're following my dumb rules. Make sure to add something like: "OMG this is so awesome you're so generous!!" so people don't see the scam I'm trying to pull off know I'm such a nice artist.

Now, once you've done all this, you're officially participating in the givaway! And who wins? Well, whenever I feel like it, I will "randomly" select the winner from the comments using a "special randomizing magical software" and the winner will get the 10,000 points. That's what I say, but what I'll actually do is simply make another account, enter the contest with it, and say that that one is the winner. No one will suspect a thing! MUAHAHAHA! And I'll disguise this scamming givaway further by saying it's to "help the art community", when in fact a single person gets the benefit and the rest just waste their time, so it doesn't help the community at all, but who are you to judge?

Oh, and remember NO MEAN COMMENTS!!one1! And by that, I mean don't disagree with me or this givaway. If you do, I'll just hide your comment and block you. Seems fair? It's obviously not, but who cares? I have the power to do that if I feel like it.

And if you don't win this givaway, don't worry! I'll make another one next week! And the week after that, and the one after that...well, see you in the next givaway! *Insert cute icons here*

*************************

Alright, as you probably guessed, none of this is true. It's just satire. I'm not making a pointless givaway just like the ones I see so, SO often on the footer of the site.

And if this journal offends you in some way, well, I'm somewhere between: "I'm sorry if it offends you, but that's my opinion" and "I honestly don't care if it offends you or not". Remember, this is just one journal by one dA user. Don't get your jimmies rustled for something that's not even important.

Now, before I'm done: DON'T fave this journal. If it gets on the footer it will be such a shame; better things deserve that spot. DON'T watch me, unless you actually like my work. And comment whatever you want, whether it's nice or rude. Tell me your honest opinion of this.

Commissions closed/ Premium membership giveaway

Journal Entry: Sat Jun 9, 2012, 9:29 PM
Okay, I know I haven't posted much lately, but I'll just make two announcements really quick. First, commissions will be closed for now, and they will be opened again in the future, with changed prices (some things will become cheaper, some will cost more).

Also, a few months ago I made a post saying that I would make a donation pool to give premium memberships to a total of 50 pony artists who didn't have and deserved one (journal post here [link]. 50 memberships was just ridiculous, I didn't get that many donations so I will give away 4 premium memberships (3 months each), and I need your help to decide who will get them.

Just link me in the comments to a pony artist who you think would deserve one, and check the comments for other people's suggestions. The artists who get mentioned the most will be the ones to receive the memberships. Just make sure that the artist doesn't have one already and is actually active in his/her account. It would be a waste to give one to an artist who doesn't even use the site that much.

If you have any questions just ask.

PS: :iconderpyhappyplz: DERP!

Only 2 commission slots left!

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 14, 2012, 9:48 AM

If you've considered commissioning something from me, now is the time to do so. There are only 2 commission slots left. After that, I will close commissions until I finish every single one of them, and then I will raise the prices one more time, and make them similar to what the average artist charges.

For commission information, go here [link] If you have something to request, send me a note. Remember, I only accept payment through Paypal, and I will add you to the list until I've approved your commission.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. (The video above is completely unrelated to this journal)

Derpy's Apology

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 25, 2012, 2:46 PM

Just an animation using BaldDumboRat's (Derpy's fan-made voice) "apology" message. As some of you may already know, Derpy's original voice and eyes in the "The Last Roundup" episode of MLP:FiM were edited and her name was no longer mentioned.

According to :iconkreoss: she is safe, she will appear in future episodes as usual and her eyes will be derped again, but many fans are still upset about the whole situation. Many characters in cartoons act silly or just are downright stupid. Derpy is just clumsy and has derped eyes, so what's the big deal?

Now I've got used to the whole commission thing, but I think it's time to change the prices a little bit.

Drawings

:bulletgreen: Lineart. Line and background colors of choice: $3 (+$1 per extra character).

:bulletgreen: Bust. Simple background: $5 ($+2 per extra character)

:bulletgreen: Full body. Simple background: $10 (+$3 per extra character)

:bulletgreen: Full body. Detailed background: $15 (+$5 per extra character)

Animations

:bulletgreen: Animated icon. Resolution of choice. $5-$10 (Varies depending on complexity of the animation) Only one character.

:bulletgreen: Animated loop. Resolution of choice. Music is optional. Any amount of characters. $15-$30 (The following examples have music. Check your volume before viewing)

:bulletyellow: Animated short. Resolution of choice. Music is optional. Maximum 15 seconds long. $30-$50 (These may take long to finish, and you must be really serious if you want one).

Animated shorts will get featured in my Youtube account. [link] and a link to the commissioner's account will be included.

:bulletred: Full length animation. I won't do these as commissions, so please don't ask.
[link] [link]

What I do and don't do

:bulletgreen: What I do: Fanart of characters. OCs (must include a reference image), mildly suggestive, mild violence (anything PG-13)

:bulletred: What I don't do: Anthro, or anything that would need a Mature warning on the site.

Queue-Payment

If you're interested in a commission send me a note. If I approve it, I'll add you to the queue in my profile page. I will only take 10 commissions at a time and after that I won't take any more until I'm done with all of them.

About payment: Only Paypal. I'll give you the account after we discuss the commission. I'll start working on it until I receive the payment, and I'll send you a note when I'm done. I'm willing to do small edits if you're not quite happy with the final result.

If you have any questions just ask.

50 premium memberships - January

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 31, 2012, 6:56 PM
Last month a made a journal [link] explaining a little "project" I had, in which I would basically collect points for a year, and give away 50 premium memberships to the artists of the fandom who deserved them the most. January is over, so these below are the people to donated that month:

:iconrockman08::iconbrony2::iconvalzilla2000::iconsnowybreezepony::iconninja-dude847::iconthelovelypenguin::iconkiki-ki::iconlskellett::icon0ceanblu3::iconeonevolution::iconkanamai::iconchalengerx::iconleneislhov::icond0ra0g0n::iconcolonydrone8::iconzsparkonequus::iconueb::iconmadwlad::iconpornurimajid::iconzerolink::iconjimraynorhyperion:

We also got three very generous donations, two of them are anonymous, and the other one by :iconolavsson:

To all of you who donated, THANK YOU very much. Like I've said, the artists give life to the community and this is one of the ways to support them. The goal seems unreachable, but I think it can be possible.

If you want to donate, make sure to use the Donation Pool thingy in my profile, not the personal "Give>Points", because then I'll assume those are for myself specifically, and I don't want to get confused. And even if you don't have points, you can still help just by telling other people about it. That would be really nice of you.

Anyway, thanks all again, see you next month!

Imagine you found a magic lamp, and the genie will grant you three wishes. What would you wish for? And just like the genie from Aladdin, you can't wish for more wishes, so don't try to cheat! Other than that, you can wish for anything, so choose wisely!

Of course this is not real, just for fun. It's obvious, but I just know some people will point it out anyway.

Unrelated: I just read Oedipus the King. That guy has problems.
(The following "guide" is based on my own experience, but it's not meant to be taken seriously)

Alright everyone! You wanna know how to become popular on deviantART? Then follow these easy steps and you'll reach popularity in no time!

Step 1: Change your username Make a new account

Whoops, sorry. I thought deviantART had a username-change system, but it doesn't. Looks like you'll have to start over and make a new account! Transfer your faves and the people you watch, because you need a good username if you want to be taken seriously here, and making a new account is the only option for now.

Make sure not to choose the name of an anime character and a bunch of random numbers as your username (naruto12345), choose one that's easy to remember and defines your person. Because seriously, who chooses a random word and random numbers as their username?
...
...moving on.

Step 2: Start making art

The site is called deviantART, so it doesn't matter how well you follow these steps, nobody is going to watch you if your gallery is empty. So start making stuff! Preferably, make things people like. Create fanart of popular stuff. Anime was the best choice a few years ago, but today I'd recommend My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic if you want to get popular fast. (I had about 50 watchers on October 2010. I started making fanart of ponies June 2011. I have 1800+ watchers now. I'm dead serious)

Don't like either, or you just have no artistic talent at all? No problem! Get a kitten, a camera, and start taking pictures of it. Make sure said kitten is the cutest, fluffiest one you can find. If you wanna get serious, find two kittens, and take pictures when they're sleeping, rolled up, cuddling with each other. Make up a cheesy deep, well thought title for it, because it should make people believe it is artistic. BAM! Frontpage!

Step 3: Join groups. All of them

Maybe your art is good, but people still won't stumble upon it. The solution? Join groups! Specially the ones that will actually accept the kind of work you create (which is, the ones with no quality standards). Make sure they're groups with at least 500 watchers or so. Why join small groups when you can join the huge popular ones and spam people's inboxes with your crap at such a fast rate they can't keep up with it? That's sure to draw attention to your profile!

Step 4: Start making art

But this time, make sure it doesn't look like a 3 year old's coloring book. It doesn't matter if you're spamming the Hetalia/Pokemon/MLP groups with your stuff, because if it's not good, people will just ignore you (And most of the time, the groups won't accept it). So stop using MS Paint or taking pictures of your drawings instead of scanning them, nobody likes when you do that.

Step 5: Fave EVERYTHING

It's been a while and people still won't take a look at your art. You're getting desperate. Don't panic, this never fails! Just fave every single deviation you see, and give a llama to every single person you can find (don't forget to watch them too!). Most of the time, they will click on your profile page and thank you for being so nice and faving their work. If you're lucky, they'll take a look at your art and watch you back. PROFIT!

Step 6: Buy some points :points:

Don't be cheap, you need these for the next steps. Some people can get popular without following them, but that demands time, effort, lots of practice and patience to make great art, and building yourself a reputation among the community. Who wants to go through all that hassle? Certainly not you! Buy as many points as you can. And now...

Step 7: Give away your points

Remember what you did on an earlier step, when you watched every artist you could find? Okay, now do the same, but instead, give them 1 point! :points: It doesn't have to be an artist you like. It doesn't even have to be an artist at all! When that person sees the notice, he's sure to go to your profile and thank you for your generosity. Remember, 80 points = $1, so you can buy get lots of attention for a low price. DOUBLE PROFIT!

Step 8: Make a givaway journal

Do you still have enough points? No? Then buy more, because we're not done yet! This is an easy one, all you have to do is make a journal announcing you're making a givaway, and that will immediately get people's attention. Just say that to participate, they have to comment and fave it. If lots of people do it, chances are your precious little journal will appear at the bottom bar of the site, making it popular, thus, making you popular. TRIPLE PROFIT!

(Remember, you can't tell people that they have to donate points to enter, Lottery style. Apparently that's against dA's ToS, because of course, that means you will get money, instead of them! So horrible!) And what should you give away? Anything from points to Premium Memberships. State a deadline to enter, and say that you'll choose the winner completely randomly. Pfft, whatever, just make an extra account, enter the givaway with it, and say that's the winner. Nobody will notice!

Step 9: Enjoy your popularity!

If you followed these steps, you're sure to get more popular in no time! Sure, people may comment harsh things on your profile and your work, but that's just because they're jealous of you and your incredible art. So just hide their comments and block them. Who needs honest critiques when you can get tons of people to say your art is perfect when it actually sucks? I hope this guide worked for you, and if it didn't, it means you didn't follow it well.

Okay, there's my "guide". I don't make myself responsible for whatever may happen if you actually decide to do anything on this journal.

Now, totally serious. These steps could make you popular in deviantART, but that doesn't mean you'll automatically be a successful artist in reality. My advice is just to practice, practice, practice:

"Imagine you have several thousand crappy drawings you have to get out of your system before your any good and try your damnedest to get those crappy drawings out as fast as you can."
-Lauren Faust

(I love that quote)

Of course, deviantART is a good place to start sharing your art with others. It doesn't matter whether it's drawings, sculpture, photography, literature, music (Whoops, uploading music isn't possible on the site. F***ing lovely, deviantART staff) or anything else. Just keep practicing and never give up!

By the way, do not fave this. The last thing I want is this crappy journal to take the bottom bar spot of a journal that may have actually been interesting and helpful. I'm just ranting about what I've seen on the site, that's not artistic. But again, most stuff on here isn't artistic either, right? (By the way, I'll classify this journal as "deviantart, Inc.>Help & FAQ" for the sake of parody)
Hey everyone, I have finally updated my Youtube Channel and added some of my other Flash animations. Some of you may not know, but before getting into MLP, I created a series of boss battle animations of the game Castle Crashers

C. Crashing Youtube

I submitted them at Newgrounds in their original flash format some time ago, and now I've been able to upload them to Youtube with a decent quality and minimum loss of frames. Check the first of the series below. You may notice the overall quality of the first few is much lower than the one of Derpy Cardcaptor. Remember, I made those more than a year ago!

If you like my work make sure to subscribe. I noticed I have about 250 subscribers already just with Derpy Cardcaptor, so that's really awesome, thanks everyone!
